Harvard Medical School

The scientific departments of Harvard Medical School (HMS) have maintained an active portfolio of cancer research activities for many years. Founded in the late 19th century, HMS has been continuously responsible for prominent discoveries in the field since cancer research became a defined entity at the turn of the century. It is one of the two academic centers of DF/HCC, and many DF/HCC faculty are appointed in one or more of its departments. HMS sets standards for faculty appointment and promotion and directs the appointment and promotion process. All HMS faculty tenure appointments within its affiliated hospitals are made under its supervision and according to its standard process.
