Harvard Catalyst Childhood Obesity Pilot Grant Opportunity

RFA for Pilot Grants in Childhood Obesity Announced

Pilot Grants will support direct costs of up to $50,000 per application for one year. Investigators with a Harvard University appointment are eligible to be a Principal Investigator if they hold an appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level, or have the approval of their department chair. At least one Co-Investigator must be included in each application. Trainees (e.g., students, clinical trainees, post-doctoral fellows, and clinical fellows) may participate as Co-Investigators.

All proposals addressing Childhood Obesity at a population level are welcome, but we encourage applications that address one of the five substantive categories listed below:

Strengthening the capacity of state systems to implement and evaluate policy

Reducing the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages

Policies and interventions in families and early childhood settings

          Innovative collaborations with industry

Socio-cultural aspects of the food and physical activity environment

Full applications are due August 9, 2012 by 5:00pm EST.
