The Impact of Health Care Reform on
Health Care Disparities

Friday, April 4, 2014
9:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

in collaboration with the Commission to End Health Care Disparities

Eight years after Massachusetts passed health care reform, almost all of the Commonwealth's residents have health insurance. Yet, in spite of initiatives specifically designed to reduce disparities, racial and socioeconomic health care disparities persist.

On April 4, the Massachusetts Medical Society, in collaboration with the national Commission to End Health Care Disparities, will host a Public Health Leadership Forum to discuss the impact of health care reform on health care disparities. The Forum will include presentations by leading experts about the state of health care disparities today, followed by a discussion of challenges and opportunities for eliminating health care disparities in Massachusetts and the nation.

Faculty includes: John Ayanian, MD, MPP, Director, Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation, University of Michigan; John Moore, MD, PhD, Chief Executive Officer, Atelion Health; Sonia Sarkar, MPH, Chief of Staff to the CEO, Health Leads; and Joel Weissman, PhD, Deputy Director and Chief Scientific Officer, Center for Surgery and Public Health, Brigham and Women's Hospital.

You are invited to join your colleagues in health care, public health, and policy to contribute to this important discussion. There is no charge to attend the Forum, however space is limited and pre-registration is required. Reserve your seat online or call 800-843-6356.
