Opportunities for Junior Investigators

  • Training
The IECD is working in partnership with the Clinical Trials Education Office to provide a cultural competency course for all fellows and new clinical investigators at DF/HCC. Additional training opportunities are highlighted regularly in the IECD Announcements and on the DF/HCC calendar.

  • DF/HCC Outcomes Seminar and Psychosocial Oncology Seminar Series
These seminars offer an opportunity for junior faculty to present their disparities related research to a body of experts.

  • Annual Poster Session
Held in May, this annual meeting is specifically designed to encourage and promote scholarly activity by junior faculty.

  • CURE Program Seminar Series
Gain presentation experience and contribute to training the next generation of cancer researchers by participating in the Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) seminar series program. The CURE program introduces high school and college students from underrepresented populations to the world of cancer research by placing them in real research settings at local cancer research institutions.

The IECD depends on junior investigators and other DF/HCC faculty members to share their research and experience with the CURE students through this seminar series each June through August. Please contact the CURE program director if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity.
