The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), are seeking early-career physicians and scientists who might be good candidates to apply for a grant to attend the Diagnostic Development Tutorial "From Hypothesis to Product" being held in Brussels, Belgium, October 14-15, 2009 in conjunction with the EORTC–NCI–ASCO Annual Meeting on Molecular Markers in Cancer, October 15-17, 2009.
The Tutorial is designed to address critical issues that must be considered when developing new tools to aid clinical decision-making for patients with cancer. The tutorial will also present clinical cases, and working groups and break-out sessions will be used to discuss these cases. Overviews will be given regarding certain aspects of biomarkers, including clinical potential and use. In addition to industry participants, 25 early-career physicians and scientists will be invited. Of the 25 invitees, five can be selected from the US/Canadian applicants. These five invitees will be identified through an application process managed by ASCO, NCI, and EORTC. [more]
