Research Abstract

As a physician-scientist, my research interests focus on gaining a greater understanding of the fundamental mechanisms that change a normal cell into a malignant cancer. My laboratory has developed experimental cancer models of defined genetic constitution and genome scale tools to perform gain and loss of function genetics in human cells. We are using these systems to derive a global understanding of cancer vulnerabillities. My clinical interests are in genitourinary oncology (prostate, renal, and bladder cancers).
