Research Abstract

My research focus is on the application of high throughput technologies such as genomics and proteomics in cancer clinical investigation. Goals are to discover and developt transrciption or proteomic signatures in various human tissues strongly associated with cancer risk, progression, response to treatment and overall outcome. Major tools in the laboratory are (among others) expression microarrays, microRNA profiling, next generation sequencing, high throughput real time PCR, and mass spetrometry. Molecular profiling data are linked to extensively annotated clinical cancer databases and results are generated through intense biostatistics and bioinformatics analysis. Major focus in sarcoma and ovarian cancer although parellel projects in other tumors are also ongoing.
