Research Abstract

My research focuses on the interaction between health care providers and community members. Specific research questions include: (1) What shapes treatment orientations of health care providers and community members and what are the consequences of these orientations? (2) What structural and personal factors influence the response of community members to case managers and other types of community health workers? (3) How do institutional and community social contexts shape the delivery of health care and reactions to health care? My current NCI-funded research evaluates the impact of a training program about clinical trials for Community Health Workers.
