Research Abstract

The limited efficacy and unacceptable therapeutic index of current therapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) suggest that novel therapeutic approaches are needed. My research involves the development of novel therapeutic strategies in ALL based on the induction or augmentation of anti-tumor immunity in patients with ALL. Clinical trials of modified tumor-cell vaccines and adoptive immunotherapy are being developed, and appropriate groups of patients for these trials will be identified. Biological endpoints of tumor-immunity will be used to gauge efficacy of these approaches.
