Research Abstract

I currently conduct research in gastrointestinal cancer epidemiology using data from the Nurses' Health Study, the Health Professionals Follow-up Study, and the Physicians' Health Study. Assess risk factors for stomach, pancreas, and colorectal cancers. In addition to looking at the influence of diet and lifestyle, we are looking at the influence of such biomarkers as insulin-like growth factors, steroid hormones, and polymorphisms of metabolism enzymes on the risk of these cancers. I also conduct research assessing various treatment regimens and new drugs for gastrointestinal cancers
