Research Abstract

Much of my research is devoted to the epidemiology of cancer, with particular attention to prostate, breast, and colon. I am Principal Investigator of three investigator-initiated grants funded by the National Cancer Institute. My cancer related studies are based in the blood component of the Physicians' Health Study, Nurses' Health Studies I and II, and the Health Professionals' Follow-Up Study. These are all population studies, with a mix of data provided by questionnaire and biological samples. The biological samples include blood, toenail clippings, and DNA derived from blood and buccal smears.
