Research Abstract

My interest is in both the areas of basic science and clinical research in pediatric brain tumors. I am interested in the role of neurotrophin receptors and their role in medulloblastoma. Specifically, we are studying the role of trkC and its role in modifying biologic behaviour of medulloblastoma. We are also studying the role of other developmentally regulated genes in cerebellar development and their potential role in medulloblastoma (shh, gli, ptc). I am also interested in the role of stereotactic radiosurgery in brain tumors. We are looking at the effect of radiosurgery in both adjuvant and upfront therapy for brain tumors.
