Research Abstract

1.) Genetic changes in lung cancers and pre-cancerous lung lesions. The focus of my research is the identification of genetic changes (such as loss of heterozygosity) in lung cancers and in pre-cancerous bronchial lesions. The goals of this project are to correlate these changes with clinical outcomes, such as risk of tumor recurrence, and to better identify patients who may be at risk of developing lung carcinomas.

2.) Identification of molecular therapeutic targets in malignant pleural mesothelioma. The goals of this project are to identify and characterize novel molecular targets that could be used as therapeutic targets for the treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma. Such agents are presently being tested in various in vitro model systems.
