Research Abstract

There are four areas of research focus in our laboratory. First is identification of novel therapeutic targets amongst the tyrosine kinase family of proteins. These efforts focus on sarcomas, mesothelioma, and other solid tumors. Second is discovery of oncogenic mechanisms and therapeutic targets in leiomyosarcoma, gastrointestinal stromal tumor, and mesothelioma. Third is use of molecular cytogenetic methods to identify novel oncogenes in solid tumors. Fourth is development of assays by which the best targeted therapy options can be determined for a given patient.
