Research Abstract

My primary research focus is in vivo cancer detection. My laboratory is organized into three sections: 1) low-molecular weight ligand discovery, 2) contrast agent development and 3) imaging technology development. Working together, these sections form an integrated and organized effort to identify a clinical problem that can be solved by imaging, then to solve the problem by developing the appropriate contrast agents and detection technology. The long-term goal of this research is to detect the smallest possible number of malignant cells to guide cancer diagnosis, prognosis and therapy.
