Dr. Sanda's research focuses on advancing and enhancing prostate cancer survival through investigations ranging from studies of prostate cancer associated antigens as targets of immune response or as markers for cancer detection, to clinical trials of novel therapy and observational outcomes research. He is the Principal Investigator of the PROST-QA Consortium, an NIH-funded clinical study evaluating patient-reported prostate cancer treatment outcomes that has enrolled over 2000 prostate cancer patients and spouses from 9 U.S. academic medical centers. He is Principal Investigator of the NIH U01-funded Harvard-Michigan Prostate Biomarker Clinical Center. He has helped spearhead two NCI Cooperative Group prostate cancer clinical trials, and he leads an NIH-funded laboratory investigating T cell responses and tolerance to prostate cancer-associated antigens in mouse models and human tissues, and the targeting of such antigens for cancer detection or therapy.Publications
