Research Abstract

Dr. Tucker-Seeley's research sits at the intersection between social epidemiology and community-based research. His social epidemiological research has focused on socioeconomic disparities in health in general, and on the association between measures of financial well-being (e.g. financial hardship) and health, in particular. He is developing a program of research that focuses on financial well-being across the cancer continuum from prevention to end-of-life care. His work focuses on the measurement of financial well-being as well as investigating the potentially bidirectional relationship between financial well-being and health outcomes across the cancer continuum. Dr. Tucker-Seeley is also interested in the measurement of the neighborhood environment in cancer prevention and social epidemiology research. His community-based research in this area focuses on conceptualizing and operationalizing neighborhood-level variables relevant to residents’ health behavior (e.g. proximity and connectivity to health promoting resources).
