Research Abstract
I am currently engaged in both clinical and translational research in renal cancer. Clinically, I am developing protocols to assess combinations of targeted agents as well as therapeutic options following failure of initial targeted therapy. Through the Renal SPORE, I am also working on identifying pathologic predictors of response to targeted agents in an effort to help direct these therapies to the appropriate patients. Finally, I am also seeking to identify novel kinase targets which may be either critical for renal cancer proliferation and growth or, when inhibited, may enhance the intrinsic lethality of currently established targeted agents such as sorafenib.
