Research Abstract

My research interests all been directed toward interventions of the liver that include RO1 funding to evaluate methods to reduce the cold ischemic damage of the re-implanted liver and treating primary and secondary liver neoplasms. In addition, I am PI of an NCI training grant, and have recently established a Center for Molecular Imaging Diagnosis and Therapy, a research laboratory for molecular based oncologic interventions such as tumor imaging, intratumoral delivery of novel gene therapeutics and the establishment of preclinical models. The clinical studies in addition include percutaneous ablation of liver tumors via laser RF devices to be done in conjunction with MR imaging techniques for on-line monitoring of the ablation process.
