Research Abstract

My laboratory is oriented toward understanding the prognosis of malignant melanoma, specifically in relationship to tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and other histologic markers. The lab also attempts to better understand the basis of the prognostic markers effort. For example, the antigenic component of melanoma cells with a striking host response and good prognosis compared to the ones with no response will be studied. Another aspect of our research is to understand the relationship of the benign cells to placenta cells and any causative relationship between the two have on our studies of the phenotypic similarities of the cells.
