Research Abstract

My training and research expertise lie at the intersection of mathematics and biological sciences. I have extensive experience in statistical analysis of high throughput sequencing data, software development, and mathematical and statistical modeling of biological processes, particularly of biological networks. As a postdoctoral research fellow at Boston Collge and Boston Biomedical Research Institute, my research was focused on developing mathematical models and software packages for improving RNA secondary structure prediction, inference on metabolic networks, identification of miRNAs and their targets in coding regions, and computer vision. As a research consultant at Pfizer, my research is focused on Bayesian networks and the use of prior knowledge for identification of molecular causes of transcriptional responses.

In collaboration with Professor Pier Paolo Pandolfi from Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center, we have recently submitted a U54 UMASS Boston-Dana Farber U54 grant application proposal aiming at discovery of novel non-coding ceRNAs of PTEN and quantitative analysis of their role in controlling PTEN levels and tumor susceptibility.
