Research Abstract

Current research focus is on the long-term health of college alumnae-former college athletes and non-athletes, with special emphasis on breast cancer. Other cancers including cancers of the reproductive system are also of interest. Research on the epidemiology of breast cancer and the effect of early physical activity on the risk of breast cancer has been a continuing research interest since the early 1980's. Outcomes research is an emerging area of investigation in relation to women's reproductive health-quality of life, mental health and well-being in relation to fertility/infertility, sterilization, endometriosis, etc.
