Research Abstract

My research interests include the integration of therapies for early breast cancer and the development of new, targeted therapies for both advanced and early breast cancer. In collaboration with colleagues in the Department of Radiation Therapy, I have investigated optimal strategies for combining chemotherapy and breast radiation in the management of primary breast breast cancer. Through a series of Harvard, industry-sponsored, and Cooperative Group trials, I am presently focussing on the development of new hormonal and biologic agents, cross-talk between endocrine and growth factor pathways, and presurgical models to better evaluate breast cancer biology. With members of the Department of Pathology, I am working to better define prognostic factors in early breast cancer.
