Research Abstract

My laboratory investigates molecular mechanisms of gene regulation. We are particularly interested in the role of transcription factors and co-activators in the initiation and progression of various cancers. One of main lines of research is focused on understanding the functional contribution of the Androgen Receptor to proliferation and survival of both androgen-dependent and -independent prostate cancers. We use a number of state-of-the-art technologies to pursue these goals, including chromatin-based in vitro transcription, siRNA-mediated post-transcriptional silencing, Affymetrix DNA microarray analysis of whole genome expression, and chromatin immunoprecipitation.
