Research Abstract

My laboratory focuses on cellular immune responses against hepatitis C virus; specifically, the relationship of the immune response to liver injury and mechanisms of chronicity. Current projects include the role of HCV proteins in attenuating immune responses; the role of HCV specific CD8 and CD4 responses in determining progression to liver fibrosis; and undertandong compartmentalization of immune responses in the liver.
