Request for Applications: SKIN CANCER SPORE DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS

The Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Specialized Program in Research Excellence (SPORE) in Skin Cancer seeks applications for Developmental Research Project Awards.

As always, our focus is on translational research.  Special emphasis will be accorded to proposals that address novel approaches to immunotherapy, or combinations of immunotherapy and targeted pharmacologic therapy.  Successful applicants should be prepared to present their proposal at the upcoming SPORE Advisory Board Meeting (June 18, 2010)

Recipients will receive 1 year of funding (renewable once), which can be used for salary and/or support of research.  The PI will be eligible for membership in the  DF/HCC Melanoma and Cutaneous Oncology Program. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

We anticipate granting awards in the approximate amount of $50,000 in direct costs starting in August, 2010. Applications will be judged on their scientific, translational, and clinical merit, and their potential for future extramural funding, either independently or as a full SPORE project.

Inquiries should be addressed to Courtney Johnson, at 617-525-5550 or cjohnson23@partners.org.

Please e-mail submission as a single PDF document to cjohnson23@partners.org.  Applications are due June 5, 2010.

Introduction and specific aims (1 page)
Brief preliminary results (1 page)
Experimental design (2 pages)
References (not counted in 4-page limit)
