Request for Applications: Skin Cancer SPORE Career Development Awards
The DF/HCC SPORE in Skin Cancer is accepting applications for a Career Development Award. These awards are typically $75,000 in direct costs for one year. All Career Development Award projects must focus on translational research relevant to human skin cancer. Awardees will be expected to participate in the activities of the SPORE, including attending research retreats and presenting research accomplishments.
Candidates may be either clinicians or basic scientists with an MD and/or a PhD degree, who are interested in translational research and in pursuing a career as an independent investigator in skin cancer research. We will consider senior level postdoctoral fellows who are moving into faculty status and instructor level junior faculty within five years of completing their training. The typical applicant is a junior faculty member with a strong program of research, a secure position in a supportive environment, and the need for funding as a bridge to independence.
