Reminder: NIH funding opportunity PAR-18-552 for Aging & Cancer Research opens May 8; Applications deadline is June 8

April 17, 2018

As a reminder, applications for The Partnership for Aging and Cancer Research Program, a new U01 grant opportunity that arose from discussions between The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF), the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the National Institute on Aging (NIA), will begin accepting applications on May 8 with a deadline application receipt date by June 8.

Since this grants program requires collaboration between intramural and extramural scientists, investigators at your institution who are interested in being introduced to potential NCI and NIA intramural collaborators can call Dr. Chamelli Jhappan at the NIH at 240-276-6200 or email her at jhappanc@mail.nih.gov.

Full details of this Funding Opportunity --- which promotes research regarding mechanisms by which aging affects cancer onset, progression, metastasis, and/or therapeutic response --- are available at this link to the FOA: https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-18-552.html

Please share this important reminder with your colleagues and feel free to contact Dr. Jhappan with any questions you may have about the FOA.
