The Dana-Farber/Partners Cancer Care Training Program in Hematology/Oncology

The goal of the Dana-Farber/Partners Cancer Care training program is to develop academically oriented physicians who will become future leaders in clinical and laboratory investigation and clinical teaching.  The objectives include:

 -Provide clinical experience in the evaluation and treatment of patients with malignancy in the inpatient and outpatient setting
 -Offer training in the administration of chemotherapy and biologic response modifier therapy
 -Offer training in the treatment of patients participating in clinical trials
 -Provide experience in the management of interdisciplinary care of the cancer patient, including understanding indications for referrals to surgeons, radiation therapies, and pain management specialists.
 -Provide experience in the diagnosis and management of disorders of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, as well as disorders of hemostasis and thrombosis
 -Provide experience in the appropriate administration of blood products, anti-coagulants, hemostatic agents, and cytotoxic agents
 -Develop skills in the performance and interpretation of bone marrow aspirates and biopsies and other relevant procedures

Eligibility: Applicants to the DF/PCC Fellowship Program are required to have completed the required pre-doctoral medical education and training in an accredited internal medicine residency program in an accredited hospital.
