The Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) in Lung Cancer Program is seeking applications for developmental research projects in lung cancer research.
Applicants must be in their final year of clinical or postdoctoral fellowship who will be moving into a faculty appointment, or those already with a faculty appointment (MD, PhD, or MD/PhD required). Candidates who have not been awarded a Developmental Research Project in the past year will be given preference. A track record of interest and/or productivity in lung cancer research is required.
The awardees will receive 1 to 2 years of funding, which can be used for salary and/or support of research at Harvard Medical School, the Harvard School of Public Health, or any of the Harvard-affiliated hospitals. The individual will become a member of the DF/HCC Lung Cancer Program and Lung Cancer SPORE. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Funding for these awards will come from donations from DF/HCC member institutions, and will be administered by the Governance Committee of the Lung Cancer SPORE. We anticipate awarding two to three awards in the approximate amount of $50,000 starting in July 2008.
