Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center (DF/HCC)
Lung Cancer Program Symposium
May 6, 2009
Request for Abstracts & Posters
On Wednesday, May 6, 2009, the DF/HCC Lung Cancer Program will sponsor its annual day-long symposium. This year it will be held at The Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School in Boston from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. We invite all DF/HCC lung cancer researchers to attend, but particularly want to encourage fellows, post-docs, and junior faculty to submit abstracts.
Abstracts (plus posters) are being accepted in the following four categories:
1) risk, prevention, and disparities
2) cell biology and signaling
3) clinical/translational studies
4) genetics and genomics
Awards, with a cash prize, will be given to the best abstract in each of the four categories. The abstract should feature recent findings that are unpublished at the time of submission or were published no earlier than March of 2009. The deadline for abstract submission is Wednesday, April 15. Please submit the abstract by email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a copy to email@example.com.
ABSTRACT REQUIREMENTS: Abstracts must be 500 words or less, and fit on an 8 1/2 x 11” paper with 1” margins on all sides. Include the title and authors at the top, acknowledgments at the bottom. You may have one (1) figure or one (1) table, and these illustrations must fit on the same page as the abstract text.
Please also prepare a color poster (related to the abstract) for exhibition at the symposium. Maximum poster size: 4 ft high x 8 ft wide. The posters should be brought to the symposium on May 6. They will be discussed and reviewed during the day’s two poster sessions.
Advance registration will be required to attend the symposium. An email announcement will be sent in March requesting RSVPs. In the meantime please save the date, and send this call-for-abstracts to colleagues, trainees, students, fellows, and young faculty.
