Request for Applications: DF/HCC SPORE in Skin Cancer Developmental Research Project Awards
The Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Specialized Program in Research Excellence (SPORE) in Skin Cancer seeks applications for Developmental Research Project Awards in Skin Cancer Research. The funding for these awards will come from a combination of donations to the member institutions of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and funds provided by the National Cancer Institute.
Eligible candidates for the Developmental Research Project Award are those who have a faculty appointment (MD, PhD, or MD/PhD required), or who are in their final year of clinical or postdoctoral fellowship. A track record of interest and/or productivity in skin cancer research is required.
The awardee will receive one year of funding (renewable once), which can be used for salary and/or support of research at Harvard Medical School, the Harvard School of Public Health, or any of the Harvard-affiliated hospitals. The individual will become a member of the DF/HCC Skin Cancer Program and the DF/HCC Skin Cancer SPORE. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
We anticipate granting awards in the approximate amount of $50,000 in direct costs starting in July, 2009. Applications will be judged on their scientific merit, their relevance to the DF/HCC Skin Cancer Program and their potential for future extramural funding. Inquiries should be addressed to Michelle Gagne, at 617-582-0080 or firstname.lastname@example.org
