Request for Applications: HMS-Portugal Program Collaborative Research Grant
The Harvard Medical School-Portugal Program in Translational Research and Information has released its first call for Collaborative Research Grants. These two- to three year grants are intended to stimulate translational research collaborations between Harvard-affiliated investigators and groups at Portuguese
Formalized in April 2009, the HMS-Portugal Program is a long-term collaboration between Harvard Medical School and the Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education. The goal of the program is to significantly expand translational research and health information across Portugal's medical schools and main research laboratories, while providing HMS and its affiliates expanded opportunities for collaborations in translational research and education.
Applications are due by October 31; letters of intent can be submitted until September 15. Proposed projects should include one research group based at Harvard and two based at institutions in Portugal. All investigators with a Harvard appointment are eligible to participate. Three grants of up to $160,000 per year for the Harvard group and 100,000 euros per year for each Portuguese group will be awarded.
