DF/HCC members receive top honors and awards
A number of DF/HCC members have received top honors, awards, and distinctions since we published eNews last. This includes a new American Association for Cancer Research President-Elect, one Canada Gairdner International Award recipient, and two new appointments to both the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS).
- The American Association for Cancer Research has appointed Judy Garber, MD, MPH (DFCI), as AACR President-Elect for 2010 to 2011. Read the AACR press release.
- William Kaelin, MD (DFCI), was one of five recipients of the 2010 Canada Gairdner award, among the world's most prestigious medical research honors. Read the DFCI press release.
- The National Academy of Sciences elected 72 new members and 18 foreign associates from 14 countries in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research, including DF/HCC members William Kaelin, MD (DFCI), and Kevin Struhl, PhD (HMS). Read the NAS press release.
