Cancer Care Delivery Research Program

The DF/HCC Cancer Care Delivery Research Program focuses on optimizing the quality of cancer care and cost-effectiveness of interventions that optimize patient-oriented outcomes, identifying barriers to quality of cancer care, and ensuring effective allocation of health and social resources. The Program also has a strong focus on racial/ethnic/socioeconomic disparities in cancer care and approaches to eliminate disparities. This large, vibrant, and productive program plays a leading role in the national research effort for cancer outcomes research. Seminal research generated by the Program continues to have a far-reaching impact on health-related policies and cancer care. In this regard, the Program also has strong translational aspects.

The Program has assembled a multidisciplinary group of more than 50 investigators with expertise in health services research and a proven commitment to study cancer outcomes. Their research spans the continuum of basic methodological studies, clinical applications, and broader policy implications, including health-related quality of life and patient satisfaction; evaluations of the effectiveness and costs of cancer treatments; assessments of quality of cancer care across the continuum, from diagnosis and treatment to survivorship and end-of-life care; and a focus on racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in cancer care and approaches to eliminate them.
