Visiting DF/HCC

MAPS, DIRECTIONS, TRAVEL

Boston-area map

All DF/HCC institutions are in Boston. Click here to view a map of Boston (MapQuest). The “red” star marks the Longwood Medical Area, where six of DF/HCC institutions are located (see list below). The “black” star is the state capitol building, which is within a few blocks of Massachusetts General Hospital.

The runways of Logan Airport are in the upper right, across from “Boston Harbor.” The Amtrak train comes into South Station (located downtown near the “s” in “Boston”). The entire Boston area — including the airport, Amtrak and commuter rail stations — is served by the MBTA subway system (see below), which stops near all DF/HCC institutions. Three interstate highways serve the Boston area — I-90, I-93 (both with downtown exits) and I-95 (outlying bypass, also called Rt. 128).

DF/HCC maps

Six DF/HCC institutions — Beth Israel Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Boston, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard School of Public Health — are located within in the Longwood Medical Area (LMA), approximately three miles west of downtown Boston. Click here for LMA map.

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is located near downtown Boston, a few blocks north of the government district. Click here for MGH map.
