Research Abstract
I am a gynecologist and clinical oncologist with research focus on improving ovarian cancer outcomes by applying molecular epidemiology to elucidate ovarian cancer etiology and improve clinical management through personalized clinical care. My epidemiologic research training focused on evaluating blood and tissue-based biomarkers in population-based studies. Thus far, I have conducted research on improving CA125 as ovarian cancer screening biomarker using predictive modeling as well as identifying novel modifiable risk factors to prevent ovarian cancer. Building on my clinical expertise and research training in epidemiology, I am committed to a career in ovarian cancer research by utilizing multi-omics data in translational and population-health science research to further our understanding of disease etiology and identify novel personalized strategies for prevention, early detection, and treatment that will improve ovarian cancer survival.
