Research Abstract
I have a background in clinical psychology, with more specific training in pediatric pain management. I currently work as a psychologist in the Division of Pediatric Psychosocial Oncology at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. My clinical work includes evaluation, consultation, and intervention for children and young adults with emotional, behavioral, or somatic concerns while on active cancer treatment. My clinical work has informed my research interests related to interventions and outcomes associated with pediatric chronic and procedural pain. Most of my research has been through the Department of Anesthesia at Boston Children’s Hospital, where I have analyzed temperament, perioperative, and pain outcome data in young children undergoing tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy surgery and am working to validate outcomes on a larger sample. I am also involved in program development through Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Current goals include the development and implementation of a multidisciplinary pain intervention for pediatric sarcoma patients undergoing surgery.
