Research Abstract
Biomedical light scattering spectroscopy (LSS) we have developed, relates spectroscopic properties of light elastically scattered by cellular organelles and other intracellular substructures, as well as collagen fiber network of the extracellular matrix to their size, shape and refractive index. The LSS has been successfully used for early cancer detection in various organs of the digestive system, such as identifying precancerous and early cancerous changes in the esophagus and pancreas.
