Research Abstract

Our research aims to improve the quality of cancer care, with a particular emphasis on using outcomes research to advance breast cancer surgery. Our Breast Surgery Outcomes Research and Innovation (BSORI) lab aims to assess and improve care quality by better understanding the impact of specific health care practices, interventions, novel therapies, and health technologies on clinical and patient-reported outcomes. We apply core principles from clinical research, population health, quality of life, and health economics and policy to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and equality of care. We seek to use this approach to translate evidence-based data into advances in clinical practice that will improve care for patients with cancer.
