Research Abstract
My research in cancer is focused in three areas: (a) understanding socioeconomic disparities in cancer incidence, survival, and access to screening and treatment; (b) investigating psychosocial factors influencing cancer incidence (for example, the role of social networks and job stress); and (c) studying the predictors of quality of life and functional status following breast and prostate cancer. Some of my studies utilize large national datasets (e.g., ongoing prospective cohort studies such as the Nurses' Health Study and the Health Professionals Followup Study). An additional interest of mine is international tobacco control.
