Research Abstract

I am an active clinical researcher and serve as the Principal Investigator for our institution with the Children's Oncology Group. In addition to participating in clinical trials that are open through the COG, I have conducted extensive research into the management of low risk febrile neutropenia, developing a clinical pathway at the MGH for the outpatient management of children with low risk features. I have also collaborated closely with my radiation oncology colleagues, studying the safety and efficacy of proton beam irradiation for the treatment of childhood tumors, particularly soft tissue sarcomas. Other clinical research efforts are in the fields of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, and the role of imaging in the staging and follow-up of pediatric cancers
