Research Abstract
My work is focused on measurement of quality of life. I am interested in the usage of existing measures for measuring preference-based quality of life and also developing new measures. My work has previously emphasized the effects of diagnostic testing and screening, using both typical holistic measures and multiattribute utility techniques. I have recently extended my work into cancer. Working with MGH collaborators, I recently published an index for quality of life measurement in non-small cell lung cancer. This instrument is based on the FACT-L and is called the FACT-LUI. It has 7 items and can be calculated with 2 different measurement tradition approaches.
