K12 Program Timeline

Before year 1

• December 15 (acceptance date) to July 1 (program start date): Scholars identify their Mentors
• By February 1: Scholars apply to HSPH

Each Year of Training

• July 1 to August 15
  • Scholars go through the “Program in Clinical Effectiveness” at HSPH. View the Training page.

• August 15-June 30
  • Ongoing mentoring on an individual basis with mentors. View the Faculty page.
  • K12 Mentoring Meeting (2 per year, each fall and spring)
  • “K12 Update” presentations twice per year
  • Option to take courses and attend additional seminars when time allows
  • Attendance of one national meeting,  usually ASCO, AACR or SNO
  • Preparation of 2-page progress report by June 1
  • Attendance of an 8-week SMART Program (Stress Management and Resiliency Training) led by a member of the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at MGH each Winter
