Convening training and career development opportunities for early-stage researchers


PATHFINDER’s focus is meeting the needs of DF/HCCs early-stage cancer investigators and supporting their educational, training, transitions, and career development.

PATHFINDER will concentrate initial efforts on developing supports for the postdoctoral community. Partnering with member institution postdoc offices and associations, PATHFINDER aims to:

  • Improve access to educational resources
  • Support career development and transitions
  • Broaden the diversity of the cancer research workforce

PATHFINDER Webtool

The PATHFINDER Webtool is the first of many tools that the initiative will deploy to support cancer-focused postdocs and clinical fellows in identifying educational resources, funding opportunities, and relevant meetings.

Scientists Teaching Science Online Course (HMS Postdoc Office)

When: 2023 Summer Course opens unofficially Tuesday, June 9 | Course formally begins on June 20 | Classes run June 20 - August 29, 2023
Where: Online, asynchronous course | Course Director will email link upon enrollment
Course fee: $50 for HMS-Quad*, All others: $250 course fee. Instructor will invoice postdocs directly. *If the fee is a barrier preventing you from taking this course, please contact our office to discuss. We do not want the fee to deter anyone from applying to the course).
