DF/HCC Drs. Filbin and Kranzusch are Among the 64 Recipients of the New Innovator Award

Congratulations to Mariella Filbin, MD, PhD (BCH) and Philip Kranzusch, PhD (DFCI) — who recently received the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award (NIA). Dr. Filbin's research focuses on "How the 3D Architecture of the Brain Shapes Cancer Cell Fate Decisions," while Dr. Kranzusch's research focuses on the “Discovery of cGAS-Like Signaling Enzymes in Innate Immunity and Disease.” According to the NIA website, the NIH Director’s NIA (DP2 mechanism), which is part of the High-Risk, High-Reward Research Program of the NIH Common Fund, “supports exceptionally creative early career investigators who propose innovative, high-impact projects in the biomedical, behavioral or social sciences within the NIH mission.”
