Community Outreach and Engagement

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Vish Viswanath to DF/HCC’s senior leadership team as Associate Director of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE). In this role, Vish joins Deputy Associate Directors Karen Burns White and Chris Lathan in leading the Center for Cancer Equity and Engagement (CCEE). Their collective goal is to ensure that DF/HCC’s cancer research impacts, and is informed by, the needs and priorities of community partners across Massachusetts. 

Vish has been a member of the faculty at DFCI and HSPH since 2004 and the Lee Kum Kee Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Harvard University since 2016. He is well known to much of the DF/HCC membership and his community-engaged research in Massachusetts serves as a national model for cancer control and health communication.

Tim Rebbeck, DF/HCC’s founding Associate Director of COE, will step down from the leadership team. We are indebted to Tim for his selfless leadership in building CCEE infrastructure over the past several years and in positioning us exceptionally well for continued engagement with communities throughout Massachusetts.
