Workshop Description:
This workshop will introduce participants to using R and RStudio. R is a simple programming environment that enables the effective handling of data, while providing excellent graphical support. RStudio is a tool that provides a user-friendly environment for working with R.
In this hands-on workshop , participants will learn the following:
- Explore R syntax and basic data structures
- Inspect and wrangle data
- Install packages for data analysis
- Make publication-quality plots with the ggplot2 package
In addition to the above, we will focus on good data management practices, installing and working with data wrangling and visualization packages, and the different ways to get help when coding in R. After this workshop participants can expect to be comfortable with the basics of data wrangling and plotting using R.
***This workshop does not require any prior R knowledge, but is a pre-requisite for several HBC advanced workshops including Introduction to single-cell RNA-seq, Pseudobulk and related approaches for scRNA-seq analysis, Introduction to Differential Gene Expression Analysis, Tools for Reproducible Research andIntroduction to Peak Analysis.***
