WHO?              Free to all Harvard affiliates

WHAT?            Foundations in Python

WHERE?         Register for zoom link

WHEN?            Wednesday, December 17th, 2025 1-4pm

Setup:              All workshops are hands-on and require you to have a computer available. This workshop will also be working from a Google Colab Notebook, so a Google account will be needed.

Basics of Python: Python is a powerful open source programming language used for many applications in bioinformatics. In this 3 hour, hands-on workshop, we will teach basic concepts in Python programming. We will explore basic Python syntax, create and manipulate lists, use built-in functions and create user-defined functions and apply conditional statements. By the end of this workshop, students should be able to create Python scripts and perform some simple programming tasks.

As always, we are happy to answer any questions; you can reach us at hbctraining@hsph.harvard.edu.

Best,

HBC Training Team
