EVENT RECAP | What’s New in Cancer Care Delivery Research?
April 14, 2026
On April 7, approximately 40–50 attendees gathered for “What’s New in Cancer Care Delivery Research?”– an annual Harvard Cancer Consortium Population Science Programs “Brief Updates” event that highlights scientific innovation and progress across the field. The program brought together diverse perspectives that explored, from different angles, gaps between patients’ goals and needs and the care that they actually received—such as how patients can receive surgery they don’t want, or not receive surgery they would benefit from; or why even severe anxiety may not be recorded in clinical notes; or how the care team may not prepare a patient for what they may experience after treatment—and highlighted opportunities to reduce those gaps in everyday practice.
